Chicago's Tribune Company joins in megamedia merger mania

Jeff Chester, executive director with the Center for Media Education, takes a critical look at the Tribune Company's takeover of Time Mirror, the latest in a string of media mergers. Tribune Company will control 11 daily newspapers, 19 magazines and 22 major television stations, becoming the third largest newspaper chain after Gannett and Knight Ridder.
