Award-winning Investigative Journalist Robert Parry (1949-2018)
Award-winning investigative journalist and founder/editor of ConsortiumNews.com, Robert Parry has passed away. His ground-breaking work uncovering Reagan-era dirty wars in Central America and many other illegal and immoral policies conducted by successive administrations and U.S. intelligence agencies, stands as an inspiration to all in journalists working in the public interest.
Robert had been a regular guest on our Between The Lines and Counterpoint radio shows -- and many other progressive outlets across the U.S. over four decades.
His penetrating analysis of U.S. foreign policy and international conflicts will be sorely missed, and not easily replaced. His son Nat Parry writes a tribute to his father: Robert Parry’s Legacy and the Future of Consortiumnews.

Barack Obama, while only 27 percent cast ballots for Republican candidate Mitt Romney. The 44 percent
gap was larger than Obama’s 36 percent margin of victory over GOP candidate John McCain in 2008.

There is a growing body of knowledge exploring the issue of "moral injury" among veterans returning from America's wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Moral injury can occur along with PTSD or post-traumatic stress disorder, but the two conditions have different origins.

The U.S. Justice Department announced on Feb. 5 that the government was proceeding with a lawsuit against Standard & Poor’s, charging that the ratings agency “knowingly, and with intent to defraud ... executed a scheme to defraud investors.” Standard and Poor’s, along with other ratings agencies, stands accused of issuing their highest triple A ratings for toxic securities made up of bundled subprime residential mortgages. When the housing market crashed, the securities lost their value, triggering major losses to some of the largest banks in what become a global financial meltdown.
