Award-winning investigative journalist and founder/editor of ConsortiumNews.com, Robert Parry has passed away. His ground-breaking work uncovering Reagan-era dirty wars in Central America and many other illegal and immoral policies conducted by successive administrations and U.S. intelligence agencies, stands as an inspiration to all in journalists working in the public interest.
Robert had been a regular guest on our Between The Lines and Counterpoint radio shows -- and many other progressive outlets across the U.S. over four decades.
His penetrating analysis of U.S. foreign policy and international conflicts will be sorely missed, and not easily replaced. His son Nat Parry writes a tribute to his father: Robert Parry’s Legacy and the Future of Consortiumnews.

There are several ways to listen to Between The Lines.
You will need an audio player, such as Windows Media Player on a PC, QuickTime on a Mac which are pre-installed on the respective PC or Apple computers. Smartphones generally use an MP3 player widely used for "streaming" or podcast subscriptions. iTunes can be found on both PC and Apple computers. RealPlayer can play more file types than Windows Media Player, but must be installed on your computer. (See "I just want to listen/'stream'" below).
You can to the audio file without having to download it to your hard drive. This feature may be useful if you simply want a quick and easy way to listen without subscribing via podcast, have an older computer and don't want to download audio to it, or have slow dialup connection which cannot support a lengthy download time for audio.
You can to Between The Lines to receive RSS feeds of either text and audio or text only.
You can individual segments or shows from our archive.
You can "stream" the audio in most cases by simply clicking on the audio file link, and the default audio player on your computer or smartphone will begin to play.
If you have an older computer or dialup access, you may stream by installing Real Player for PC or for Mac.
Podcasts are recordings of radio shows or other audio programs, generally provided in the form of MP3 audio files, which are compressed to reduce download time and can be downloaded automatically via the Internet with podcast software. The maker of a podcast, called a "podcaster," will periodically provide additional episodes of a given program. You can subscribe to a podcast using software designed for the purpose. This software will automatically check to see if any new episodes of the programs are available and will automatically download the episodes. You can listen to such a downloaded recording using MP3 player software on your computer or transfer it an MP3 playing device, such as an iPod, to listen to it on the go.
You will need "podcatcher" software, which can be programmed to poll a server periodically for new items, and download them to your computer or mobile device. Software in this category includes Juice (formerly iPodder - Mac OS X, Windows XP or Linux), Doppler (Mac or Windows), iTunes (Mac or Windows), and GoogleListen (Android).
You will also need an MP3 player, either in the form of a mobile MP3 player or a mobile phone with MP3 capability or software on your computer, like RealPlayer (Mac or Windows), QuickTime (Mac or Windows), Windows Media Player (Mac or Windows), Winamp (Windows only) or GoogleListen (Android).
